R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Tharon Finck of San
1-2 Antonio were greatly saddened by her passing on March 22, 1997, and
1-3 we join them in mourning their loss; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Henrietta, Mrs. Finck moved to Austin with
1-5 her family at a young age, and she graduated from Austin High
1-6 School before attending The University of Texas at Austin; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Mrs. Finck was a welcome presence among her friends
1-8 and associates, and her active participation greatly benefited the
1-9 Battle of Flowers Association; she also gave freely of her time and
1-10 energy to Alamo Heights Baptist Church, and she drew strength and
1-11 sustenance from this community of worship; and
1-12 WHEREAS, A delightful companion, Mrs. Finck enjoyed the
1-13 camaraderie of her Monday sewing circle and her regular Friday
1-14 lunch group, and she was an avid golfer until her health forced her
1-15 to forego the sport; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Finck derived her greatest
1-17 joy and satisfaction from her loving and close-knit family, and she
1-18 will be remembered by them first and foremost as a devoted wife,
1-19 mother, sister, and aunt; now, therefore, be it
1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
1-21 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Tharon Finck and extend
1-22 sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, O.
1-23 H. "Oppie" Finck; to her daughter Fern Lee "Missy" Finck-Gwinn and
1-24 son-in-law Morris L.; to her sisters and brother-in-law, Yvonne
2-1 Wells, Meda Beth Levine, and Cozette and Frank Lane; to her niece,
2-2 Sandy Berger; and to her nephew, Walter Wells; and, be it further
2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-4 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
2-5 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-6 Tharon Finck.
