R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to

 1-2     welcome the seventh-grade class of Canyon Vista Middle School in

 1-3     the Round Rock Independent School District as they visit the State

 1-4     Capitol today; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, With the 75th Legislative Session well underway, the

 1-6     Capitol Complex is abuzz with activity, offering visitors an

 1-7     excellent opportunity to see their state government functioning at

 1-8     its dynamic best; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, This noteworthy group of youngsters and their

1-10     sponsors will have the chance to tour the Capitol building and

1-11     learn the fascinating history of this monument to freedom and

1-12     democracy; the outstanding collection of art and documentation

1-13     housed on the Capitol grounds provides an exceptional source of

1-14     information for those interested in the role of state government

1-15     and the chronicles of our great state; and

1-16           WHEREAS, The magnificent Capitol, with its impressive rotunda

1-17     and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young

1-18     and old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State

1-19     and to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and

1-20     the members of this chamber are pleased to commemorate this

1-21     worthwhile visit; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-23     Legislature hereby welcome these exemplary students to the State

1-24     Capitol and encourage them to embrace the long and fascinating

 2-1     history of the Lone Star State; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-3     prepared for the students and faculty of Canyon Vista Middle School

 2-4     as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of

 2-5     Representatives.
