R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to 1-2 welcome students from Weslaco's Cleckler-Heald Elementary School to 1-3 the Capitol today; and 1-4 WHEREAS, With the 75th Legislative Session well underway, the 1-5 Capitol Complex is abuzz with activity and offers these exemplary 1-6 young people the chance to see their state government functioning 1-7 at its dynamic best; and 1-8 WHEREAS, To aid in their study of Texas' exciting history, 1-9 this group of energetic students will have the opportunity to avail 1-10 themselves of the Capitol Complex's superb educational resources; 1-11 the outstanding collection of art and documentation housed on the 1-12 Capitol grounds provides an exceptional source of information for 1-13 those individuals interested in the chronicles of this vast and 1-14 varied region; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The majestic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda 1-16 and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal place for young 1-17 and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to 1-18 gain insight into the workings of our state government, and the 1-19 members of this chamber are proud to commemorate this worthwhile 1-20 visit; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby welcome the students of Cleckler-Heald 1-23 Elementary School to the State Capitol and encourage them to 1-24 embrace the long and fascinating history of the Lone Star State and 2-1 to continue in their quest toward achieving a better understanding 2-2 of the important role that state government plays in the lives of 2-3 all Texans.
