No. 597 75R11078 JTR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Ann Dorn Beldon of 1-2 San Antonio were greatly saddened by her passing on March 28, 1997, 1-3 at the age of 86, and we join them in mourning their loss; and 1-4 WHEREAS, In 1946, Mrs. Beldon and her husband, Morris, 1-5 founded the business that was to become Beldon Roofing and 1-6 Remodeling Company, and for the next 25 years she served as the 1-7 firm's secretary-treasurer; and 1-8 WHEREAS, After her retirement from the family business, 1-9 Mrs. Beldon began to devote much of her time to the Brandeis 1-10 University Women's Committee, serving that organization as 1-11 president, and under her leadership the San Antonio chapter was 1-12 awarded the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement for 1-13 two successive years, an unprecedented accomplishment; shortly 1-14 thereafter she was elected president of the organization's 1-15 Southwest Region Chapter, which was recognized with the same award; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, Mrs. Beldon also gave freely of her time and talent 1-18 to a number of other worthy organizations, including the Temple 1-19 Beth El Sisterhood; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Beldon drew strength and 1-21 inspiration from her large and loving family, and she will be 1-22 remembered by them first and foremost as a devoted wife, mother, 1-23 grandmother, and great-grandmother; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Though she will be missed, Ann Dorn Beldon's memory 2-1 will live on in the lives of all those fortunate enough to know 2-2 her, and it is indeed fitting to pay tribute to her full life and 2-3 many accomplishments at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Ann Dorn Beldon and extend 2-6 sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, 2-7 Morris Beldon; to her children and their spouses, Drs. Eleanor and 2-8 Harvey Komet, Michael and Louise Beldon, and Nancy and Steve 2-9 Sherman; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her 2-10 other family members and friends; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for her family as an expression of high regard by the 2-13 Texas House of Representatives.
