R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The week of June 2-7, 1997, is recognized nationally

 1-2     as Management Week in America, and this year marks the event's 14th

 1-3     annual observance; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the National Management Association,

 1-5     Management Week in America was created to honor our nation's

 1-6     managers and their efforts to promote the American competitive

 1-7     enterprise system; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Organized in 1925, the National Management

 1-9     Association reflects the entire spectrum of American business,

1-10     including private industry and organizations in the public sector;

1-11     and

1-12           WHEREAS, Justly renowned for its legacy of excellence in

1-13     management, the Lone Star State boasts more than 6,700 active

1-14     members of the National Management Association, each of whom is

1-15     fully committed to creating the highest possible standards for

1-16     their profession; and

1-17           WHEREAS, The many dedicated individuals across the state and

1-18     nation who serve as managers perform a vital function in the

1-19     workplace by providing the direction, encouragement, and leadership

1-20     necessary to create a positive working environment and their

1-21     efforts are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition at

1-22     this time; now, therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-24     Legislature hereby recognize June 2-7, 1997, as Management Week in

 2-1     the State of Texas.
