R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Judge Charles E. Carter, Jr., is a distinguished and 1-2 able law enforcement official, a gifted educator, and a vital and 1-3 valued member of the community, and his many contributions to his 1-4 fellow Texans are truly worthy of special praise and recognition; 1-5 and 1-6 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Judge Carter earned his bachelor's 1-7 degree from Hardin-Simmons University before pursuing graduate 1-8 studies at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Much of Judge Carter's keen grasp of the judicial 1-10 system stems from his long and varied experience as a lawman, and 1-11 his career has included work in various capacities with the Big 1-12 Springs Police Department, Tom Green County, the Texas Alcoholic 1-13 Beverage Commission, and the 142nd Judicial District Attorney's 1-14 office; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Judge Carter currently holds the position of judge 1-16 in the City of Whitesboro, and he has served in this post with 1-17 distinction for 10 years; an outstanding instructor as well, he has 1-18 taught criminal justice at Midland College and continues to do so 1-19 at North Central Texas College; and 1-20 WHEREAS, His dedication to the law is rivaled only by his 1-21 commitment to spiritual life, and for many years he has shared his 1-22 talents as a Baptist preacher with his fellow worshipers; he also 1-23 gives freely of his time and energy to work with young people; and 1-24 WHEREAS, For many years, Judge Charles E. Carter, Jr., has 2-1 devoted himself to the common good, and it is indeed appropriate at 2-2 this time to recognize him for his many accomplishments; now, 2-3 therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor Judge Charles E. Carter, Jr., for his 2-6 lifetime of public service and extend to him sincere best wishes 2-7 for continued success and happiness in the future; and, be it 2-8 further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Judge Carter as an expression of high regard by the 2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
