No. 620 75R11457 JTR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Business and Chambers of 1-2 Commerce has selected Texas Nameplate Company as the 1997 Business 1-3 of the Year in the category of private sector companies, and this 1-4 singular honor is truly worthy of special praise; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The recipient of this prestigious award is chosen by 1-6 a panel of 11 judges on the basis of achievement in business 1-7 management, employment relations programs, and corporate 1-8 citizenship, and Texas Nameplate's outstanding showing in these 1-9 areas resulted in its selection from a field of 18 candidates; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Founded in 1946 by Roy Crownover, Texas Nameplate 1-11 has long been recognized as an industry leader of renown, and in 1-12 1996 the company was presented with the Texas Quality Award by 1-13 Governor George W. Bush in recognition of its outstanding record of 1-14 accomplishment; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Under the leadership of current president Dale 1-16 Crownover, the staff and management of Texas Nameplate continue to 1-17 uphold the company's tradition of excellence, and the high value 1-18 the firm places on its employees is reflected in its ambitious 1-19 training program; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Texas Nameplate has distinguished itself as one of 1-21 the Lone Star State's most outstanding businesses, and with the 1-22 company's proven history of success, its able staff can indeed look 1-23 forward to embracing the challenges and opportunities of the next 1-24 century; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby congratulate all those associated with Texas 2-3 Nameplate Company on being named the 1997 Business of the Year by 2-4 the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce and 2-5 extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and 2-6 happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for display at Texas Nameplate Company as an expression of 2-9 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
