No. 634 75R11862 JTR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Ezell Rhodes has spent a lifetime in the service of 1-2 others, and her many notable achievements are truly worthy of 1-3 special praise and recognition at this time; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Ms. Rhodes earned her bachelor's degree at Bishop 1-5 College before pursuing graduate studies at Southern Methodist 1-6 University, where she was awarded a master's degree in public 1-7 administration; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant throughout her career, 1-9 Ms. Rhodes has proven herself to be a resourceful human services 1-10 manager for a number of organizations, including the City of 1-11 Dallas, the Martin Luther King Center, the Dallas County Community 1-12 Action Agency, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Since her retirement in 1988, she has continued to 1-14 play a vital and valued role in her community, serving as the 1-15 director of the Good Street Baptist Church Social Service Center 1-16 and overseeing social services for the C. A. W. Clark Community 1-17 Center; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Her sound judgment and wide breadth of experience 1-19 are sought after by her colleagues in the social services, and she 1-20 lends her leadership to the boards of the Good Street Credit Union 1-21 as well as the Parkland Health and Hospital System's Bluitt Flowers 1-22 Advisory Board; and 1-23 WHEREAS, This admirable woman's commitment to the welfare of 1-24 her community has greatly benefited her fellow Texans, and her 2-1 presence has indeed made the world a better place; now, therefore, 2-2 be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby honor Ezell Rhodes for her many contributions to 2-5 the State of Texas and extend to her sincere best wishes for 2-6 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Ms. Rhodes as an expression of high regard by the 2-9 Texas House of Representatives.
