R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, March 15, 1997, was a day of great significance for

 1-2     Hosie and Lauris Butler of Lake Worth, for on that day the couple

 1-3     observed their golden wedding anniversary; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Butler celebrated this momentous

 1-5     occasion at a dinner hosted by their children, A. A. "Rusty"

 1-6     Butler, Dusty Butler, Steve Butler, Pearline Truitt, Judy Cassaday,

 1-7     and Beverly Butler; in addition to their six children, the Butlers

 1-8     have been blessed with 11 grandchildren and two

 1-9     great-grandchildren; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Hosie Butler and the former Lauris Johnson were

1-11     united in matrimony on March 15, 1947, in Marshall; Mr. Butler is a

1-12     retired iron worker from Local 263, while Mrs. Butler has made a

1-13     career as a homemaker, raising the couple's children and providing

1-14     her family with love and support; and

1-15           WHEREAS, For 50 years, Hosie and Lauris Butler have enjoyed a

1-16     strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and

1-17     cherished family memories; their relationship is a continuing

1-18     source of pride and inspiration to their family and friends, and it

1-19     is truly appropriate that they be honored at this time; now,

1-20     therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-22     Legislature hereby congratulate Hosie and Lauris Butler on the

1-23     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

1-24     sincere best wishes for success and happiness in the years to come;

 2-1     and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-3     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Butler as an expression of high regard by

 2-4     the Texas House of Representatives.
