R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
1-3 joyous occasion worthy of special recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Bob and Mildred Peery of Longview recently had the
1-5 privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives
1-6 when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on April 2,
1-7 1997; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Since exchanging their wedding vows, the Peerys have
1-9 nurtured an enduring relationship that has grown in love and
1-10 respect with each passing year, and they have enriched not only
1-11 their own lives but the lives of those around them with their
1-12 devotion to each other; and
1-13 WHEREAS, The couple are the proud parents of three sons,
1-14 Bobby, Ronny, and Mikey Peery, and the devoted grandparents of five
1-15 grandchildren, Meegan, Joey, Brian, Jim, and Amber Peery; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Both of the Peerys enjoyed rewarding careers with
1-17 the White Oak Independent School District; Mr. Peery is retired
1-18 after 28 years of service as an industrial arts instructor and a
1-19 counselor, and Mrs. Peery completed 23 years as a third-grade
1-20 elementary school teacher before her retirement; and
1-21 WHEREAS, The couple have maintained their involvement with
1-22 the district through the years, for each of their sons was educated
1-23 at White Oak schools and two of their grandchildren are currently
1-24 enrolled in the district; and
2-1 WHEREAS, For half a century, Bob and Mildred Peery have
2-2 shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times
2-3 and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of
2-4 mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage has indeed been a
2-5 source of joy and inspiration to the many friends and family of
2-6 this fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
2-7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
2-8 Legislature hereby congratulate Bob and Mildred Peery on the
2-9 occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2-10 warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Peery as an expression of high regard by
2-13 the Texas House of Representatives.
