R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, George and Josephine Grimes had the privilege of

 1-5     commemorating such a momentous event in their lives when they

 1-6     celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on April 5, 1997, with

 1-7     a family dinner hosted by their children; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, United in matrimony more than five decades ago in

 1-9     Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. Grimes have nurtured an enduring

1-10     relationship that has grown in love and understanding with each

1-11     passing year and that has been blessed with three children, George

1-12     E. Grimes, Jr., William D. Grimes, and David Grimes; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Grimes are longtime residents of

1-14     Fort Worth; Mr. Grimes served his country with distinction as a

1-15     member of the United States Army Veterinary Corps in World War II

1-16     and is now retired from his career as a veterinarian, while

1-17     Mrs. Grimes has devoted herself to making a warm and nurturing home

1-18     for her family throughout their marriage; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Today, the couple are vital and valued members of

1-20     their  community, and they treasure the time they spend with their

1-21     family, which has grown to include two grandchildren; and

1-22           WHEREAS, For half a century, George and Josephine Grimes have

1-23     enjoyed a deeply rewarding marriage filled with many happy times

1-24     and cherished family memories; their life together has been an

 2-1     inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are indeed

 2-2     deserving of special legislative recognition at this time; now,

 2-3     therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby honor George and Josephine Grimes on the

 2-6     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-7     warmest best wishes for many more years of continued success and

 2-8     happiness; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Grimes as an expression of high regard by

2-11     the Texas House of Representatives.
