No. 670 75R12413 SAJ-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Edward and Lois Griffin of Azle had the privilege of 1-5 commemorating such an event in their lives when they celebrated 1-6 their golden wedding anniversary on March 15, 1997, in the company 1-7 of their family and many friends at the B. J. Clark Community 1-8 Center; and 1-9 WHEREAS, United in matrimony in Paris, Texas, the Griffins 1-10 have nurtured an enduring relationship that has grown in love and 1-11 understanding with each passing year and that has been blessed with 1-12 nine children, Vicki Pitts, Diane Spooner, Johnnie Griffin, Debra 1-13 Conner, Steve Griffin, Lori Griffin, Terry Griffin, Rick Griffin, 1-14 and Scott Griffin; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The couple made their home in Fort Worth for 17 1-16 years before moving to Azle nearly three decades ago; they have 1-17 been industrious and valued members of each community, and they are 1-18 both retired from careers with the Fort Worth public school system; 1-19 and 1-20 WHEREAS, Now enjoying an active retirement together, the 1-21 Griffins treasure the time they spend with their family, which has 1-22 grown to include 16 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandchild; 1-23 and 1-24 WHEREAS, For half a century, Edward and Lois Griffin have 2-1 shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times 2-2 and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of 2-3 mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage is a source of joy 2-4 and inspiration to the family and many friends of this fortunate 2-5 pair; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Lois Griffin on the 2-8 occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 2-9 warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Griffin as an expression of high regard 2-12 by the Texas House of Representatives.
