R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to 1-2 welcome the members of the Azle Camp Fire Boys and Girls 1-3 organization to the State Capitol today; and 1-4 WHEREAS, With the 75th Legislative Session underway, these 1-5 fine young citizens have the opportunity to witness their state 1-6 government functioning at its dynamic best as they tour the Capitol 1-7 Complex; and 1-8 WHEREAS, To aid in their further understanding of the vital 1-9 role of the legislature, the visiting boys and girls will meet with 1-10 their state representative and avail themselves of the Capitol 1-11 Complex's superb educational resources; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The Camp Fire organization, which became 1-13 coeducational in 1977, has been serving young Americans since its 1-14 establishment in 1910; the Azle Camp Fire Boys and Girls was formed 1-15 in 1992 and today its 21 members, who are enrolled in kindergarten 1-16 through the fifth grade, are led by Cita Brannon, with the capable 1-17 support of Valerie Barnett and Jackie Barnes; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The majestic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda 1-19 and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal place for young 1-20 and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to 1-21 gain insight into the workings of our state government, and the 1-22 members of this chamber are proud to commemorate this worthwhile 1-23 visit; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby welcome the members of the Azle Camp Fire Boys 2-2 and Girls to the State Capitol and encourage them to embrace the 2-3 long and fascinating history of the Lone Star State; and, be it 2-4 further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for the Azle Camp Fire Boys and Girls as an expression of 2-7 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
