                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding

 1-2     individuals who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of

 1-3     marriage is truly a memorable occasion worthy of special

 1-4     recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Alfred and Barbara Schnieders of Kansas City,

 1-6     Kansas, will have the privilege of commemorating such an event in

 1-7     their lives when they celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on

 1-8     April 26, 1997; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, United in matrimony at St. John the Baptist Catholic

1-10     Church in Kansas City, Kansas, the couple have nurtured an enduring

1-11     relationship that has grown in love and respect with each passing

1-12     year, and they have enriched not only their own lives but the lives

1-13     of those around them with their devotion to each other; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Schnieders are the proud parents of

1-15     three children, Bob, Carol, and Larry, and the grandparents of four

1-16     wonderful and talented grandchildren, Kelly, Elizabeth, Patrick,

1-17     and Brenton; and

1-18           WHEREAS, The couple have developed close ties to the Lone

1-19     Star State, which began when Mr. Schnieders made his home in

1-20     Dallas's Oak Cliff community during the 1930s; over the course of

1-21     the years, they have enjoyed vacationing throughout Texas, and they

1-22     now look forward to their visits to our state to spend time with

1-23     their youngest son and his family; and

1-24           WHEREAS, For a half-century, Alfred and Barbara Schnieders

 2-1     have shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy

 2-2     times and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of

 2-3     mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage is a source of joy

 2-4     and inspiration to the many friends and family of this fortunate

 2-5     pair; now, therefore, be it

 2-6           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-7     Legislature hereby congratulate Alfred and Barbara Schnieders on

 2-8     the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-9     warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-11     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schnieders as an expression of high

2-12     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
