R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Willow Leigh Holmes on January 6, 1-2 1997, at the age of 36, has brought a great loss to the family and 1-3 many friends of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born March 6, 1960, in Dallas, Ms. Holmes was a 1-5 devoted caregiver who provided for the needs of others at a nursing 1-6 home before joining the staff of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of 1-7 Texas 13 years ago; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A loving family member, she treasured the close 1-9 relationship she shared with her parents, grandmother, siblings, 1-10 nieces, and nephews, and her love and support served as a source of 1-11 inspiration for the entire family; she was heir to a rich heritage, 1-12 for her great-grandfather, William Cox Holmes, was a member of the 1-13 Texas Constitutional Convention of 1879; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The qualities that endeared Ms. Holmes to so many 1-15 emanated from her deep faith as a fifth-generation parishioner of 1-16 First United Methodist Church, where she looked after children in 1-17 the nursery for 16 years; this remarkable lady shared her devotion 1-18 with countless individuals on mission trips to Alaska and Oregon, 1-19 and she also traveled abroad with friends and family; and 1-20 WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Willow Holmes touched the lives 1-21 of many people, and though her presence will be deeply missed, her 1-22 memory will long endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew and 1-23 loved her; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Willow Leigh Holmes 2-2 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 2-3 parents, William and Jean Holmes; to her grandmother, Viola 2-4 Taggart; to her sister and brother-in-law, Glynn Holmes Rasor and 2-5 Charles Rasor; to her brother and sister-in-law, Noel Spencer 2-6 Holmes and Noel Wilkerson Holmes; to her nieces, Lauren, Kelsey, 2-7 and Jocelyn Rasor; to her nephews, Will and Zach Holmes; to her 2-8 aunts, Sue Watkins, Glenna McClintock, and Rosemary Taggart; to her 2-9 uncles, Gary Taggart, Tommy Taggart, and Charles Taggart; and to 2-10 her many other friends and relatives; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-13 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-14 Willow Leigh Holmes.
