                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed

 1-3     a memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Adalberto and Mary Padilla had the privilege of

 1-5     commemorating such an event in their lives when they celebrated

 1-6     their golden wedding anniversary on December 31, 1995; the Padillas

 1-7     marked this milestone by renewing their marital vows in a special

 1-8     ceremony at Primera Iglesia Bautista, followed by a dinner and

 1-9     reception for their family and close friends; and

1-10           WHEREAS, United in matrimony for more than five decades,

1-11     Adalberto and Mary Padilla have nurtured an enduring relationship

1-12     that has grown in love and understanding with each passing year and

1-13     that has been blessed with four children, Albert Padilla, Eloy

1-14     Padilla, Peter Padilla, and Linda Padilla; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Today, the couple are vital and valued members of

1-16     their community, and they treasure the time they spend with their

1-17     family, which has grown to include nine grandchildren and four

1-18     great-grandchildren; and

1-19           WHEREAS, For half a century, Adalberto and Mary Padilla have

1-20     enjoyed a deeply rewarding marriage filled with many happy times

1-21     and cherished family memories; their life together is an

1-22     inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are indeed

1-23     deserving of special legislative recognition at this time; now,

1-24     therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-2     Legislature hereby honor Adalberto and Mary Padilla on the occasion

 2-3     of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best

 2-4     wishes for many more years of continued success and happiness; and,

 2-5     be it further

 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-7     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Padilla as an expression of high regard

 2-8     by the Texas House of Representatives.
