R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On April 30, 1997, health care professionals from

 1-2     across the Lone Star State will be in Austin to celebrate Rural

 1-3     Health Care Day at the Capitol, and this occasion is truly worthy

 1-4     of special praise and recognition at this time; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Top-notch medical care is a crucial component of any

 1-6     community's security and well-being, and rural health care

 1-7     professionals meet this basic need throughout the state, ensuring

 1-8     that those Texans who live far from urban areas enjoy ready access

 1-9     to a wide variety of medical services; and

1-10           WHEREAS, On a daily basis these dedicated healers confront

1-11     not only the  challenging task of administering health care

1-12     services but also the logistical difficulties of serving patients

1-13     in isolated areas, and their steadfast commitment to their calling

1-14     is all the more remarkable and welcome for these reasons; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Texas' rural health care professionals are vital and

1-16     valued assets to the state and its people, and it is indeed fitting

1-17     that we recognize their outstanding accomplishments at this time;

1-18     now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-20     Legislature hereby recognize April 30, 1997, as Rural Health Care

1-21     Day at the Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visitors

1-22     present to celebrate this noteworthy event.
