R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, April 3, 1997, was a day of great significance for

 1-2     Fred and Ruby Crocker of Longview, for on that day the couple

 1-3     observed their 60th wedding anniversary; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Crocker celebrated this memorable

 1-5     occasion in the company of family and friends, including

 1-6     Mr. Crocker's brother, Luther, from nearby Kilgore; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The Crockers were united in matrimony on April 3,

 1-8     1937, at a ceremony in Henderson, and the date of April 3rd gained

 1-9     significance with the arrival of the couple's first son, Ron, on

1-10     their fourth anniversary and the birth of their second son, Dick,

1-11     on their 10th anniversary; and

1-12           WHEREAS, Mr. Crocker is a retired club pro, while

1-13     Mrs. Crocker has made a career as a homemaker, providing love and

1-14     support for her husband and sons; the Crockers relocated to

1-15     Longview in the late 1970s following Mr. Crocker's retirement and

1-16     have become respected members of this fine community; and

1-17           WHEREAS, For 60 years, Fred and Ruby Crocker have enjoyed a

1-18     strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and

1-19     cherished family memories; their relationship is a continuing

1-20     source of pride and inspiration to their family and friends, and it

1-21     is truly appropriate that they be honored at this time; now,

1-22     therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate Fred and Ruby Crocker on the

 2-1     occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-2     sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the

 2-3     future; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Crocker as an expression of high regard

 2-6     by the Texas House of Representatives.
