                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of special praise and recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, John and Vivian Gibbs Connolly of Longview, Texas,

 1-5     recently commemorated one such golden event in their lives when

 1-6     they were joined by family and friends at their home on April 13,

 1-7     1997, to celebrate a half-century of mutual affection and devotion;

 1-8     and

 1-9           WHEREAS, United in marriage on April 15, 1947, the Connollys

1-10     have enjoyed an enduring relationship that has continued to grow in

1-11     love, respect, and regard for each other with each passing year;

1-12     and

1-13           WHEREAS, Before his retirement, Mr. Connolly was a valued

1-14     employee at Brown & Root Construction Co., while Mrs. Connolly

1-15     devoted her energies to maintaining their lovely home; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Connolly have been blessed with six

1-17     children, Vivian Connolly Painter, Michael Connolly, Rich Connolly,

1-18     Matthew Connolly, Charles Connolly, and Christine Barker, who have

1-19     benefited immeasurably from their parents' love and guidance; in

1-20     recent years, the family's happiness has further blossomed with the

1-21     welcome addition of 11 grandchildren; and

1-22           WHEREAS, For 50 years John and Vivian Connolly have shared a

1-23     marriage filled with many joyful times and cherished family

1-24     memories; their relationship is a continuing source of pride and

 2-1     inspiration to their family and friends, and it is indeed

 2-2     appropriate that they receive special legislative recognition at

 2-3     this time; now, therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby congratulate John and Vivian Gibbs Connolly on

 2-6     the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-7     sincere best wishes for many years of continued happiness; and, be

 2-8     it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for John and Vivian Connolly as an expression of high

2-11     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
