R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On March 24, 1997, Barbie Hernandez was inducted

 1-2     into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame, and it is indeed fitting

 1-3     on this auspicious occasion to recognize her for her many

 1-4     achievements; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez was selected for this honor in

 1-6     recognition of her many contributions as a volunteer, and her

 1-7     exemplary record of service has inspired the gratitude and

 1-8     admiration of her fellow Texans; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Dedicated to improving her community, Ms. Hernandez

1-10     has given freely of her time and talent to serve on the boards of

1-11     the YWCA, the Girl Scouts of America, the Folklife Festival, the

1-12     San Antonio-Mexico Friendship Committee, and the San Antonio

1-13     Convention and Visitors Bureau; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Employed as an administrative assistant for

1-15     Anheuser-Busch Corporate Relations, she is also the state president

1-16     of Business and Professional Women/Texas; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Barbie Hernandez has distinguished herself as an

1-18     accomplished businesswoman and a public-spirited citizen, and her

1-19     work in behalf of others is indeed worthy of special praise and

1-20     recognition; now, therefore, be it     RESOLVED, That the House of

1-21     Representatives hereby congratulate Barbie Hernandez on her

1-22     induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame and extend to

1-23     her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the

1-24     future.
