                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     The Colony High School Band for its many achievements; and

 1-3           WHEREAS, Its talented student members delighted audiences

 1-4     with their festive performance at the legendary Rose Bowl Parade on

 1-5     New Year's Day, and as one of only 11 bands in the country that

 1-6     were asked to perform at the event, the group served as the sole

 1-7     representative of the Southwest; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of directors Dick Clardy,

 1-9     Rick Villarreal, Bryan Edwards, and Jeff Prospie, The Colony High

1-10     School Band has excelled in University Interscholastic League

1-11     competition as well, and it bested worthy competitors to finish

1-12     among the top seven of all 5A high school bands in the state; and

1-13           WHEREAS, The dedication, hard work, and talent of the members

1-14     of The Colony High School Band continue to serve as a source of

1-15     inspiration to the student body and faculty of the school as well

1-16     as to the community, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor the band

1-17     at this time; now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby commend the members of The Colony High School

1-20     Band and directors Dick Clardy, Rick Villarreal, Bryan Edwards, and

1-21     Jeff Prospie for their outstanding success and extend to them

1-22     warmest best wishes for continued good fortune in the future; and,

1-23     be it further

1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-1     prepared for The Colony High School Band as an expression of high

 2-2     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
