R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Justin Thomas Pitts on 1-2 October 16, 1996, at the age of 12, has brought a great loss to the 1-3 many friends and relatives of this exceptional young man; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Blessed with an irresistible smile and an 1-5 affectionate nature, Justin was a treasured member of his family 1-6 and a constant source of delight and inspiration to his friends and 1-7 classmates at Our Lady of Victory School; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Always seeking new avenues to express his many 1-9 talents, Justin was a pitcher and catcher on his Northwest senior 1-10 minor league championship team; a member of Meyer's Mountain Men's 1-11 last great camping trip to Alaska as well, Justin was also an 1-12 active sixth grade student who was the starting right tackle for 1-13 the eighth grade football team and was a member of Our Lady of 1-14 Victory Cathedral; and 1-15 WHEREAS, It is recognized around the world that the most 1-16 beautiful wildflowers, the biggest deer, the best fish, and the 1-17 fattest doves are found in Texas; Justin knew the biggest bucks and 1-18 the best fishing were found on the Lindsey Ranch in Webb County, 1-19 the best dove hunting was on Mr. Tom Tyng's ranch, and that 1-20 bluebonnets are the most beautiful wildflower of them all; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Justin Thomas Pitts was an intelligent, responsible, 1-22 thoughtful young man who faced a future bright with promise; 1-23 although his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will surely 1-24 live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched 2-1 during his time on this earth; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Justin Thomas Pitts 2-4 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his 2-5 parents, Jack and Sue Ann Pitts; to his brother, Martin Pitts; to 2-6 his sister, Melita Pitts; to his grandmothers, Glenodine Pitts and 2-7 Mary Ann Vivion; and to the many other friends and relatives of 2-8 this beloved young Texan; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-11 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-12 Justin Thomas Pitts.
