                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 8, 1997, J. Paul Turner, an esteemed resident

 1-2     of the Sweetwater community, reaches a significant milestone in a

 1-3     full and generous life when he celebrates his 90th birthday; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A native of Mitchell County, he was born to J. W.

 1-5     and Lela Turner on May 8, 1907; he wed the lovely Geraldine

 1-6     Bradshaw in Roby in 1940, and the couple nurtured a deeply

 1-7     fulfilling union until her passing in 1991; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Turner is a lifelong rancher who raised

 1-9     registered Hereford show cattle; he has resided in Nolan County for

1-10     the past 53 years and has helped to make the Sweetwater community a

1-11     better place in which to live, work, and rear a family through his

1-12     active involvement in civic affairs; and

1-13           WHEREAS, This fine gentleman has graciously loaned his

1-14     impressive personal Winchester collection for lifetime display at

1-15     the Nolan County Courthouse for the enjoyment of his fellow

1-16     citizens, and his outstanding efforts in behalf of others

1-17     throughout the years have earned him the heartfelt gratitude of the

1-18     community; and

1-19           WHEREAS, During his long and productive life, Paul Turner has

1-20     brought great joy and happiness to the countless people whose lives

1-21     he has touched; he indeed merits special legislative recognition as

1-22     he celebrates his special day; now, therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate J. Paul Turner on the occasion of

 2-1     his 90th birthday and extend to him warmest best wishes for

 2-2     continued good fortune and happiness; and, be it further

 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-4     prepared for Mr. Turner as an expression of high regard by the

 2-5     Texas House of Representatives.
