R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Buddy R. Dulin is retiring as superintendent of the

 1-2     Cameron Independent School District (ISD), drawing to a close a

 1-3     distinguished tenure in the field of public education that has

 1-4     spanned more than four decades; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Dulin earned both a

 1-6     bachelor's degree and a master's degree from McMurry College; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, During the first half of his career, he was a

 1-8     teacher and coach with the Albany ISD, and he rose through the

 1-9     ranks to become superintendent of schools in the course of his 21

1-10     years with that district; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Relocating to Cameron, Mr. Dulin was named

1-12     superintendent of schools for the Cameron ISD in 1974, in which

1-13     capacity he has continued to have a profound effect on public

1-14     education for the past 23 years; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Under his watch, the district has earned

1-16     well-deserved acclaim for its academic and extracurricular

1-17     programs; students have won numerous honors in F.F.A., Science

1-18     Fair, and History Fair projects, and talented young men and women

1-19     have also excelled in athletic and band programs and in University

1-20     Interscholastic League (UIL) competition; and

1-21           WHEREAS, This esteemed educator has contributed to his chosen

1-22     field in leadership capacities with the Texas State Teachers

1-23     Association, the Texas Association of School Administrators, and

1-24     the University Interscholastic League; and

 2-1           WHEREAS, A leader in the Lion's Club and the Chamber of

 2-2     Commerce, he has participated in numerous school and community

 2-3     activities both in Albany and in Cameron, and his stalwart

 2-4     commitment has earned him the gratitude of many individuals; and

 2-5           WHEREAS, Buddy Dulin has enhanced the quality of education in

 2-6     our state in countless ways, and he is indeed worthy of special

 2-7     praise and recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it

 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-9     Legislature hereby congratulate Buddy R. Dulin on his outstanding

2-10     service as superintendent of the Cameron Independent School

2-11     District and extend to him warmest best wishes for a happy and

2-12     rewarding retirement; and, be it further

2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-14     prepared for Mr. Dulin as an expression of high regard by the Texas

2-15     House of Representatives.
