R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes special 1-2 pleasure in honoring Barbra Dorr on the occasion of her graduation 1-3 from The University of Texas at Austin on May 17, 1997; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Recognized by professors and her fellow students to 1-5 be an exemplary scholar, Ms. Dorr will receive her master's degree 1-6 in social work in a ceremony to be held at Bass Hall on The 1-7 University of Texas campus; and 1-8 WHEREAS, In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Dorr 1-9 currently serves as a staff member in the office of Representative 1-10 Glen Maxey, and she combines an astute political acumen with a deep 1-11 understanding of policy issues to bring new thinking and fresh 1-12 ideas to the areas of education, human services, and state employee 1-13 issues; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Attaining a graduate degree is truly a notable 1-15 milestone, for it represents the culmination of years of work in 1-16 the academic arena, and in light of her achievement and 1-17 contributions to this state it is appropriate that Barbra Dorr 1-18 receive special legislative recognition at this time; now, 1-19 therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate Barbra Dorr on the significant 1-22 occasion of her graduation from The University of Texas at Austin 1-23 and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued success and 1-24 happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Ms. Dorr as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives.
