No. 856 75R13955 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Dick Solo's dedication to the State of Texas and the 1-2 citizens of Dallas County has been truly exemplary, and the members 1-3 of this chamber would like to take this opportunity to recognize 1-4 him for his many years of service to the community; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A certified public accountant by profession, 1-6 Mr. Solo currently serves as a precinct chair in Dallas County; in 1-7 addition, he has been a member of the Commission on Human Rights 1-8 since his 1991 appointment by Governor Ann Richards, and he serves 1-9 on the executive boards and as treasurer of both the Trinity 1-10 Ministries for the Poor and Family Gateway organizations; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mr. Solo is a longtime member of the Democratic 1-12 Party, and his diligent work in promoting the ideas and ideals of 1-13 that group has been nothing short of inspirational; in addition to 1-14 his tremendous efforts in behalf of the party, his calm and steady 1-15 influence has helped to strengthen the resolve of the many 1-16 individuals who support the Democratic Party in Dallas; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A former member of the State Democratic Executive 1-18 Committee, this remarkable gentleman demonstrated outstanding 1-19 leadership and commitment during his tenure with that noteworthy 1-20 body, and these qualities have deservedly earned him the respect 1-21 and admiration of his family, friends, and coworkers; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Dick Solo's compassionate and understanding nature 1-23 has often been a comfort to others in the critical moments of their 1-24 lives, and his positive attitude and generosity of spirit are to be 2-1 commended; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby honor Dick Solo for his many significant 2-4 contributions to the betterment of his community and state and wish 2-5 him well in all his future endeavors; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for Mr. Solo as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-8 House of Representatives.
