                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, In August 1997, Mark Thomas Ramsay, the son of

 1-2     Representative Thomas Donald Ramsay and Laurie Manning Ramsay,

 1-3     graduated from Baylor University, and, in recognition of this

 1-4     auspicious event, it is indeed fitting that we recognize this

 1-5     remarkable young Texan for his many accomplishments; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, A vital and valued member of the student body at

 1-7     Baylor, Mr. Ramsay lent his time and talents to a number of campus

 1-8     groups, for he was a founding member of the Baylor Ash Society and

 1-9     also served on the Baylor Transfer Council; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. Ramsay's wide range of interests and abilities

1-11     also led him to pursue an active involvement in the school's

1-12     athletic programs, and he was president and manager of the Baylor

1-13     Men's Club soccer team during the 1994-1995 season; additionally,

1-14     he volunteered his services to the Waco/Big Twelve Development

1-15     Committee; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Even as a high school student, Mr. Ramsay

1-17     demonstrated an exceptional flair for entrepreneurship, starting

1-18     and operating his own retail business in Mount Vernon, and his

1-19     bachelor's degree in accounting marks the opening of a new chapter

1-20     in his professional life; possessed of a keen work ethic,

1-21     Mr. Ramsay took numerous jobs in his time at Baylor, and the

1-22     dedication and drive he demonstrated throughout his academic career

1-23     will no doubt continue to characterize all his endeavors; and

1-24           WHEREAS, Mark Thomas Ramsay is a young man of great poise and

 2-1     promise, and he has enriched the lives of all those fortunate

 2-2     enough to know him; possessed of singular gifts, this talented

 2-3     Texan is truly worthy of special praise and recognition; now,

 2-4     therefore, be it

 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-6     Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Thomas Ramsay on his

 2-7     graduation from Baylor University and extend to him sincere best

 2-8     wishes for continued success and happiness in the future; and, be

 2-9     it further

2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-11     prepared for Mr. Ramsay as an expression of high regard by the

2-12     Texas House of Representatives.
