                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Thomas Boroughs Moseley on April 23,

 1-2     1997, at the age of 68, has brought a great loss to the family and

 1-3     many friends of this esteemed Palestine resident; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born December 30, 1928, and

 1-5     was graduated from Baylor University before earning a master's

 1-6     degree from the University of North Texas; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Mr. Moseley taught in Rayville, Louisiana, and in

 1-8     Giddings before moving to Palestine in 1954, where he was a

 1-9     positive role model to countless young Texans during his 26-year

1-10     tenure with the Palestine school district, and over the course of

1-11     the years, he wrote, scored, produced, and directed more than 50

1-12     musical productions and shows; and

1-13           WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he was sustained by an abiding

1-14     faith as a member of First Christian Church, where he was organist

1-15     and choir master for the last 18 years, and he graciously shared

1-16     his talents with others as minister of music at several area

1-17     churches; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Thomas Moseley touched the lives of many people

1-19     during his years on this earth, and though his special presence

1-20     will be deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the hearts

1-21     and minds of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-23     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Thomas Boroughs

1-24     Moseley and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:

 2-1     to his beloved wife, Ann Moseley; to his son, Andrew Moseley; to

 2-2     his daughter, Elizabeth Justice; to his mother, Exa Moseley; to his

 2-3     grandson; and to the many other friends and relatives of this fine

 2-4     gentleman; and, be it further

 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-6     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas

 2-7     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

 2-8     Thomas Boroughs Moseley.
