                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On January 3, 1997, Marcelino Casas, Sr., retired

 1-2     from his position with the United States Postal Service after 33

 1-3     years of distinguished service to the federal government, and this

 1-4     auspicious occasion is truly worthy of special praise and

 1-5     recognition; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, A vital and valued employee of the postal service,

 1-7     Mr. Casas brought integrity and dignity to his many

 1-8     responsibilities, and through his dedication to excellence he has

 1-9     left a lasting legacy of professionalism in public service to his

1-10     colleagues; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Previous to his employment in the postal service,

1-12     Mr. Casas was employed by the United States Department of

1-13     Immigration, and his tenure there was characterized by the same

1-14     steadfast dependability and levelheadedness that he brings to all

1-15     his endeavors; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Casas has drawn strength

1-17     and sustenance from his large and loving family, and as he now

1-18     takes his well-deserved retirement he looks forward to the newfound

1-19     time they may enjoy together; and

1-20           WHEREAS, Marcelino Casas, Sr., has dedicated a lifetime to

1-21     public service, and it is indeed fitting at this time to recognize

1-22     him for his notable contributions to his fellow Americans; now,

1-23     therefore, be it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-1     Legislature hereby honor Marcelino Casas, Sr., on the occasion of

 2-2     his retirement and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

 2-3     success and happiness in the future; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for Mr. Casas as an expression of high regard by the Texas

 2-6     House of Representatives.
