                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Terry Williams on his receipt of the Jim Whatley Building Official

 1-3     of the Year Award for 1997 by the Building Officials Association of

 1-4     Texas; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Williams is employed as a building official with

 1-6     the City of El Paso, and he was feted with this prestigious

 1-7     accolade because of his professional achievements; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, A registered architect in Texas and Illinois, he has

 1-9     worked to enhance building codes at the local, state, and national

1-10     levels through his involvement in a number of initiatives; he

1-11     currently serves on the International Board for Professional

1-12     Standards for the International Code Council to improve testing

1-13     programs for professionals, and he recently completed a four-year

1-14     tenure as chairman of the Texas Standard Electrical Examination

1-15     Program advisory panel; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Terry Williams' professionalism and commitment have

1-17     made him a leader in his chosen field, and it is truly a pleasure

1-18     to recognize him on the occasion of his most recent honor; now,

1-19     therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-21     Legislature hereby congratulate Terry Williams on his receipt of

1-22     the Jim Whatley Building Official of the Year Award and extend to

1-23     him warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness in all

1-24     his future endeavors; and, be it further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the

 2-3     Texas House of Representatives.
