                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Terah Ruth Murphy on her receipt of a $5,000 college scholarship

 1-3     from the Lucky Lady Oil Company; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A senior at Azle High School, Ms. Murphy ranks in

 1-5     the top 10 percent of her class, and she successfully balances the

 1-6     rigorous demands of her course load with involvement in

 1-7     extracurricular activities; she has been a member of the school

 1-8     band and student council, and she also participates in all youth

 1-9     group activities, from Bible studies to car washes; and

1-10           WHEREAS, During her junior and senior years, Ms. Murphy has

1-11     worked at local restaurants, and she participated in a missionary

1-12     trip to Belize during the summer of 1996 as well; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Following her graduation in May 1997, Ms. Murphy

1-14     plans to study zoology at Texas A&M University, and her academic

1-15     excellence thus far has undoubtedly laid the groundwork she will

1-16     need for continued achievement in the future; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Terah Murphy has demonstrated exceptional

1-18     intelligence, initiative, and maturity in successfully pursuing her

1-19     academic and career goals, and it is truly a pleasure to recognize

1-20     her on the occasion of her most recent honor; now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-22     Legislature hereby congratulate Terah Ruth Murphy on her receipt of

1-23     the Lucky Lady Oil Company College Scholarship and extend to her

1-24     warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness in all her

 2-1     future endeavors; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-3     prepared for Ms. Murphy as an expression of high regard by the

 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
