R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 John Shaw, a student at Lubbock's Coronado High School, on his 1-3 receipt of an award at the 10th annual Texas Career and Technology 1-4 Education Awards Program; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Cosponsored by the Texas Career and Technology 1-6 Council and the Vocational-Technical Education Development 1-7 Foundation of Texas, the program recognizes outstanding achievement 1-8 by students in career and technology education, alumni of those 1-9 programs, and public or private sector partnerships of business, 1-10 industry, and labor organizations that support such initiatives; 1-11 and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Shaw was selected as the winner of the 1-13 Outstanding Industrial Technology Student category; by excelling in 1-14 his studies, this dedicated young man has demonstrated his desire 1-15 and ability to achieve his highest potential as he prepares for his 1-16 future role in society; and 1-17 WHEREAS, His noteworthy accomplishment serves as a source of 1-18 inspiration to his peers at Coronado High School as well as a 1-19 shining example of the rewards that can be attained from hard work 1-20 and self-discipline; and 1-21 WHEREAS, John Shaw has demonstrated exceptional intelligence, 1-22 initiative, and maturity in pursuing his goals, and it is most 1-23 fitting that he receive special legislative recognition for his 1-24 noteworthy performance; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby congratulate John Shaw on being named an 2-3 Outstanding Industrial Technology Student and extend to him sincere 2-4 best wishes for continued success and happiness in the future; and, 2-5 be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for Mr. Shaw as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-8 House of Representatives.
