                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Walter Reginald Collins II on

 1-2     April 12, 1997, at the age of 41, has brought a great loss to the

 1-3     family and many friends of this esteemed Texan; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The son of Walter and Lynn Collins, he was born in

 1-5     Landstuhl, Germany, on September 24, 1955, and had resided in El

 1-6     Paso since 1964; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Mr. Collins was well regarded for his successful

 1-8     business career; the former owner of FBA Security Systems and

 1-9     Collins Construction Company, he was also self-employed as a master

1-10     locksmith; and

1-11           WHEREAS, He led a well-rounded life, enjoying hunting and

1-12     camping, and he was a proud member of the National Rifle

1-13     Association; a movie buff as well, he was a great fan of "the

1-14     Duke," John Wayne; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Walter Collins touched the lives of many people

1-16     during his years on this earth; though he has been laid to rest on

1-17     the family land he lovingly called "the Fortress," his memory will

1-18     long endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him

1-19     for many years to come; now, therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED,  That the House of Representatives of the 75th

1-21     Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Walter Reginald

1-22     Collins II and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his

1-23     family: to his parents, Walter and Lynn Collins; to his brothers,

1-24     Greg Collins, Craig Collins and his wife, Laura Collins; to his

 2-1     sisters, Yvette Collins and Yvonne Collins Haggerty and her

 2-2     husband, State Representative Pat Haggerty; to his niece, Caroline

 2-3     Renee Collins; to Denise Van Brocklin and her children, Joseph Van

 2-4     Brocklin, Allyson Nicole "Nicky" Van Brocklin, and James Patrick

 2-5     Van Brocklin; and to his many other friends and relatives; and, be

 2-6     it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-8     prepared for the members of his family, and that when the Texas

 2-9     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-10     Walter Reginald Collins II.
