No. 922 75R14522 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Life Organ Bank of East Texas has been serving 1-2 the citizens of Tyler and the surrounding area for many years, 1-3 providing an array of services to organ donors and transplant 1-4 recipients; and 1-5 WHEREAS, With headquarters in Dallas and six branches 1-6 throughout the state, Southwest Organ Bank, Inc., offers 1-7 professional family counseling to both organ donors and recipients; 1-8 led by Medical Director Martin G. White and Interim Executive 1-9 Director Alison Smith, Southwest Organ Bank's 48 full-time 1-10 employees also provide donor evaluation and management services and 1-11 facilitate organ procurement and transplantation; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The staff members of the Life Organ Bank of East 1-13 Texas, as well as the employees of the regional offices in 1-14 Galveston, Corpus Christi, Midland/Odessa, El Paso, and Temple, are 1-15 committed to providing the best possible treatment to individuals 1-16 who undergo this emotionally exhausting surgical procedure, and 1-17 their genuine concern has contributed greatly to the Southwest 1-18 Organ Bank's remarkable record of success; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Each year, hundreds of lives are saved through the 1-20 miracle of organ transplantation, and the commendable efforts of 1-21 everyone involved with this organization have benefited citizens 1-22 across the state by helping to make this precious opportunity more 1-23 widely available; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby commend the employees and volunteers of the Life 2-2 Organ Bank of East Texas for their exemplary service in behalf of 2-3 Southwest Organ Bank, Inc., and extend to these notable individuals 2-4 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the 2-5 years to come; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for the staff of the Life Organ Bank of East Texas as an 2-8 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
