R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, This year on Memorial Day weekend, Funfest in

 1-2     Amarillo, Texas, will celebrate its 20th anniversary, and this is

 1-3     truly a significant event for the local community; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Junior League of Amarillo, this

 1-5     annual festival is held to benefit the Amarillo City Parks

 1-6     Department and the League's Community Trust Fund, which provides

 1-7     financial assistance to many worthy charitable organizations; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, The theme for this year's Funfest is "Celebrating

 1-9     Twenty Years" and, with hearty offerings of food and drink, music,

1-10     volleyball, golf, a tug-of-war, and other games, the event is

1-11     likely to fulfill the promise of its name; and

1-12           WHEREAS, For 20 years, Funfest has offered its attendees an

1-13     opportunity to set aside the cares of daily life and take part in a

1-14     celebration that benefits the entire community, and this

1-15     exceptional festival is indeed worthy of special legislative

1-16     recognition; now, therefore, be it

1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-18     Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of Funfest and

1-19     pay tribute to the many hardworking individuals, past and present,

1-20     whose efforts have made this unique event into one of the state's

1-21     most eagerly anticipated galas; and, be it further

1-22           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

1-23     prepared for the Junior League of Amarillo as an expression of high

1-24     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
