R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Adell Doan Van de

 1-2     Putte were deeply saddened by her death on March 18, 1997, at the

 1-3     age of 66, and the members of the Texas House of Representatives

 1-4     join in mourning her passing; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Van de Putte was born to Hoyt

 1-6     T.  and Ruth Irene Wright Doan of Kingsville on December 25, 1930;

 1-7     she enjoyed a long and fulfilling relationship with her husband,

 1-8     Henry P. Van de Putte, and their marriage was blessed with five

 1-9     cherished children; and

1-10           WHEREAS, For many years, Mrs. Van de Putte was an integral

1-11     part of the success of the family's business, Dixie Flag Company,

1-12     and this energetic woman adeptly balanced the demands of her family

1-13     life with her responsibilities as the company's

1-14     secretary-treasurer; and

1-15           WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Van de Putte remained involved in

1-16     her community as an active member of the La Coste Veterans of

1-17     Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Medina Valley Women of the Moose,

1-18     and her many friends in those organizations will undoubtedly miss

1-19     her companionship; and

1-20           WHEREAS, Through her service to her family, her community,

1-21     and her state, Adell Doan Van de Putte distinguished herself as a

1-22     woman of integrity and compassion, and although her presence is

1-23     gone from us now, her unique spirit will live on in the hearts of

1-24     all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-2     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Adell Doan Van de

 2-3     Putte and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to

 2-4     her beloved husband, Henry P. Van de Putte; to her daughters and

 2-5     sons-in-law, Glenda Krueger, Judy Annette Murray and Jack Murray,

 2-6     Nancy Elizabeth Wade and Tom Wade, and Sally Marie Van de Putte and

 2-7     Dale Rochelle; to her son and daughter-in-law, Henry P. Van de

 2-8     Putte, Jr., and Representative Leticia Van de Putte; to her 12

 2-9     grandchildren; to her stepbrother, Robert Hollinger; and to all the

2-10     relatives and friends of this distinguished woman; and, be it

2-11     further

2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-13     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas

2-14     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-15     Adell Doan Van de Putte.
