                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Bob Ross has contributed greatly to the betterment

 1-2     of the San Antonio community as a city councilman, and his efforts

 1-3     are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A democratic form of government depends on the

 1-5     informed participation of its people, and foremost among the

 1-6     system's participants are those dedicated men and women who are

 1-7     willing to make the sacrifices necessary to take on the role of

 1-8     public servant; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great, and the

1-10     rewards are not always immediately apparent; public servants must

1-11     continually balance the needs of their constituents with the best

1-12     use of available resources, and few issues are easily resolved; and

1-13           WHEREAS, In taking on this difficult challenge, Bob Ross has

1-14     joined the proud tradition of citizen leadership that has been our

1-15     nation's trademark for more than two centuries, and he can take

1-16     justifiable pride in the role he has played in this noble legacy;

1-17     now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Bob Ross for his years of

1-20     public service and extend to him warmest best wishes for the

1-21     future; and, be it further

1-22           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

1-23     prepared for Mr. Ross as an expression of high regard by the Texas

1-24     House of Representatives.
