                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, 1997 marks a year of many accomplishments in the

 1-2     full and active lives of Pearland residents Winston and Nell

 1-3     Fuller; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The Fullers had the distinct privilege of

 1-5     commemorating their 33rd wedding anniversary on February 28, 1997,

 1-6     having shared their wedding vows in Pearland in 1964; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The couple were later feted at a gala birthday

 1-8     celebration in their honor hosted by their family and many friends

 1-9     on April 5, 1997; Mr. Fuller commemorated his 75th birthday that

1-10     day, while Mrs. Fuller turned 70 four days earlier; and

1-11           WHEREAS, The pair have been welcome and industrious members

1-12     of their community; Mr. Fuller enjoyed a successful career as owner

1-13     of Fuller's Texaco Station before joining the staff of the Brazos

1-14     River Authority, where he was employed for 17 years until his

1-15     retirement in 1987; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Mrs. Fuller worked with Pearland Florist for many

1-17     years before retiring in 1980; since that time, she has continued

1-18     to help out at the shop part-time during the holidays, and she

1-19     especially enjoys selling flowers and gifts for Mother's Day and

1-20     Valentine's Day; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, the couple have demonstrated

1-22     their abiding commitment to their community and have given

1-23     generously of their time and talents to assist several local

1-24     organizations, including the Pearland VFW Post Number 7109, the

 2-1     Pearland Exchange Club, and the Pearland-Hobby area Chamber of

 2-2     Commerce; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, They have also been active in the Pearland Lions

 2-4     Club and the American Business Women Association, and their

 2-5     stalwart commitment has earned them the heartfelt appreciation of

 2-6     many people; and

 2-7           WHEREAS, In all their endeavors, the Fullers have enjoyed the

 2-8     love and support of their sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Maryls

 2-9     Fulwood and Ralph and Judy Fulwood; more recently, they have

2-10     welcomed the addition of four grandchildren, Tommy Fulwood, Tabatha

2-11     Fulwood, Doug Fulwood, and Jackie Fulwood; and a cherished

2-12     great-grandson, Jake Fulwood, into the family fold; and

2-13           WHEREAS, Winston and Nell Fuller have greatly enhanced the

2-14     quality of life in their community, and it is indeed a pleasure to

2-15     honor them in their banner year; now, therefore, be it

2-16           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-17     Legislature hereby commend Winston and Nell Fuller for the many

2-18     contributions they have made to their community and extend to them

2-19     warmest best wishes for continued happiness as they celebrate their

2-20     birthdays and 33rd wedding anniversary; and, be it further

2-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-22     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Fuller as an expression of high regard by

2-23     the Texas House of Representatives.
