                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 29, 1997, the family and many friends of

 1-2     Walter Hall will gather in Walter Hall Park Pavilion to celebrate

 1-3     his 90th birthday, and this festive occasion is truly worthy of

 1-4     special praise and recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Hosted by the League City Garden Club and by

 1-6     Mr. Hall's sons, this memorable event will also serve as a

 1-7     fund-raiser for Helen's Garden, a garden park named for Mr. Hall's

 1-8     late wife and nestled in the heart of League City's charming

 1-9     historical district; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. Hall is well known for his love of his community

1-11     and his generosity of spirit, and these typically Texan traits are

1-12     aptly reflected by his offer to match all proceeds from the party

1-13     with a donation of his own; and

1-14           WHEREAS, By honoring Mr. Hall in this manner, his hosts will

1-15     not only pay tribute to a much-loved member of the community but

1-16     will also help to ensure that future generations may enjoy the

1-17     serene beauty of Helen's Garden, and this legacy is indeed a

1-18     fitting celebration of both Mr. Hall's life and that of his wife

1-19     Helen, in whose memory this garden was created; now, therefore, be

1-20     it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-22     Legislature hereby honor Walter Hall on the memorable occasion of

1-23     his 90th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for

1-24     continued success and happiness; and, be it further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for Mr. Hall as an expression of high regard by the Texas

 2-3     House of Representatives.
