R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Students from Austin's Dobie Middle School recently 1-2 visited the Capitol Complex, and the Texas House of Representatives 1-3 is proud to commemorate this special occasion; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Teacher Ron Goins coordinated this much anticipated 1-5 outing in an effort to aid in the students' study of Texas' 1-6 exciting history, and few places in Texas are as steeped in the 1-7 lore of the Lone Star State as the Capitol building and its 1-8 surrounding complex; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The array of educational resources found within the 1-10 Capitol Complex includes an outstanding collection of art and 1-11 documentation and offers an exceptional source of information for 1-12 those interested in the chronicles of this vast and varied region 1-13 we call Texas; and 1-14 WHEREAS, With its impressive rotunda and distinctive pink 1-15 granite facade, the State Capitol is an ideal setting for young and 1-16 old alike to discover the rich heritage of our great state and to 1-17 gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the 1-18 members of this chamber are pleased to encourage extracurricular 1-19 activities such as this; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby commemorate the visit of Dobie Middle School 1-22 students and support them in their quest toward learning more about 1-23 the unique history of Texas and toward achieving a better 1-24 understanding of the important role of our state government; and, 2-1 be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Principal Patrick Patterson and the students and 2-4 faculty of Dobie Middle School as an expression of high regard by 2-5 the Texas House of Representatives.
