                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to

 1-2     welcome students visiting the State Capitol today from Houston's

 1-3     Tower Christian Academy (TCA); and

 1-4           WHEREAS, With the 75th Legislative Session nearing its

 1-5     conclusion, the Capitol is abuzz with activity and offers these

 1-6     fine young people a chance to see their state government

 1-7     functioning at its dynamic best; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, During the course of their tour of the Capitol

 1-9     Complex, they will be accompanied by TCA Principal Barbara Lesher

1-10     and their teacher Lorrie Hall, and these outstanding mentors will

1-11     undoubtedly use this experience as a valuable educational tool in

1-12     the future; and

1-13           WHEREAS, While they are here, the visiting students will have

1-14     the chance to avail themselves of the Capitol's superb educational

1-15     resources; the collection of art and documentation housed in this

1-16     celebrated edifice provides an exceptional source of information

1-17     for those interested in the chronicles of this vast and varied

1-18     region; and

1-19           WHEREAS, For 20 years, the administrators and faculty of

1-20     Tower Christian Academy have dedicated themselves to educating

1-21     children in a Christian environment; the goal of this exemplary

1-22     institution is to serve as an extension of the Christian home,

1-23     nurturing children throughout their spiritual, cognitive,

1-24     emotional, social, and physical growth while emphasizing the

 2-1     fundamental importance of God and His Word; and

 2-2           WHEREAS, The historic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda

 2-3     and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young

 2-4     and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to

 2-5     gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the

 2-6     members of this chamber are pleased to commemorate this worthwhile

 2-7     visit; now, therefore, be it

 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-9     Legislature hereby honor Tower Christian Academy on its 20th

2-10     anniversary as an outstanding  provider of a private Christian

2-11     school education and extend a warm welcome to its students and

2-12     staff who are visiting the Capitol on this day; and, be it further

2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-14     prepared for the students, faculty, and staff of Tower Christian

2-15     Academy as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of

2-16     Representatives.
