R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 the members of the Clifton Middle School seventh grade girls' 1-3 basketball team, whose superlative efforts enabled them to win the 1-4 District III championship; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The season's outstanding success was the result of 1-6 an unyielding commitment to excellence by players Alicia Greene, 1-7 Sara Runnels, Ivy Jody, Leticia Martinez, Tabetha Phillips, Jessica 1-8 Gongora, Trashona Walker, Michelle Vinklarek, Brooke Guider, 1-9 LaCresia Montgomery, Elisa Gomez, and Terri Pham; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Coaches Diana Henigan and Sue Robinson schooled 1-11 their young athletes in hardwood fundamentals and emphasized the 1-12 value of teamwork, enabling their players to consistently function 1-13 as a successful unit while on the floor; and 1-14 WHEREAS, This dedicated group of young women, along with 1-15 their coaches, are a source of tremendous pride to the students and 1-16 faculty at Clifton Middle School, and their many supporters in the 1-17 community, and their superb achievements on the basketball court 1-18 are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition at this time; 1-19 now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate the Clifton Middle School 1-22 Cougarettes on winning the District III seventh grade basketball 1-23 championship and extend to them best wishes for continued success 1-24 and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the team members and coaching staff as an expression 2-3 of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
