R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Oak Forest resident Ione Frye Morosin has 1-2 distinguished herself by her impressive swimming victories in the 1-3 Houston Senior Olympics, and her performance is truly worthy of 1-4 special praise and recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, An accomplished athlete, Mrs. Morosin swept the 70 1-6 to 74 age category, taking gold medals in the 50-meter butterfly, 1-7 100-meter breast stroke, and 100-meter freestyle events and placing 1-8 second in the 50-meter, 100-meter, and 200-meter backstroke races; 1-9 and 1-10 WHEREAS, She loves swimming but she also enjoys a number of 1-11 other diverse interests; a valued member of St. Rose of Lima 1-12 Catholic Church, she is also an avid devotee of the lively arts and 1-13 often attends ballet, opera, and theater performances; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Ione Frye Morosin's achievements as an athlete are 1-15 but one aspect of her active and optimistic approach to life, and 1-16 through her many accomplishments she has become a role model and 1-17 inspiration to her fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-19 Legislature hereby congratulate Ione Frye Morosin on her showing in 1-20 the Houston Senior Olympics and extend to her sincere best wishes 1-21 for continued success and happiness in the future; and, be it 1-22 further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for Mrs. Morosin as an expression of high regard by the 2-1 Texas House of Representatives.
