No. 993 75R15771 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of the Honorable Michael Schwille 1-2 has brought a great loss to the many friends and relatives of this 1-3 esteemed Dallas jurist; and 1-4 WHEREAS, This exemplary Texan attained his bachelor's degree 1-5 in business at the University of North Texas and continued his 1-6 pursuit of academic excellence at Baylor University, earning his 1-7 law degree from that respected institution; and 1-8 WHEREAS, After several years in private practice, he joined 1-9 the district attorney's office in 1968, and his extraordinary 1-10 accomplishments while serving in that demanding capacity set 1-11 standards of integrity and efficiency to which all in his 1-12 profession could aspire; and 1-13 WHEREAS, He was appointed to the County Criminal Court No. 3 1-14 in 1978 and his tenure on the bench was characterized by his 1-15 diligent and scholarly discharge of his duties of office, in 1-16 keeping with the most honorable traditions of the judiciary; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Judge Schwille also contributed to his community 1-18 through his sponsorship of an annual picnic at the State Fair 1-19 Grounds honoring U.S. Marine Corps personnel; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Judge Michael Schwille was a man of rare commitment 1-21 and compassion, and although his warmth and wisdom are gone from us 1-22 now, his remarkable spirit will surely live on in the hearts of the 1-23 many people whose lives he touched during his time on this earth; 1-24 now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Judge Michael 2-3 Schwille and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: 2-4 to his wife, Carolyn; to his son, Edward; and to the many other 2-5 friends and relatives of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-8 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-9 the Honorable Michael Schwille.
