By Roman H.R. No. 1010 75R15733 SAJ-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Dr. Billy B. Ozier on May 8, 1997, at 1-2 the age of 74, has brought a great loss to the family and many 1-3 friends of this esteemed Burnet physician; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Temple, he was graduated from Texas A&M 1-5 University before earning a medical degree from The University of 1-6 Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1955, and he completed his 1-7 residency at Dallas' Baylor Hospital before moving to Burnet the 1-8 following year; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Dr. Ozier was a Fellow of the American Academy of 1-10 Family Physicians, and he enjoyed a successful career in private 1-11 practice that spanned nearly 30 years before his retirement in 1-12 1985; and 1-13 WHEREAS, He led a full and active life, treasuring the close 1-14 friendships he formed through his involvement with both the 1-15 Highland Lakes Texas A&M Club and the Masonic Lodge No. 175, and he 1-16 was feted for his remarkable service in behalf of others as an 1-17 Honor Citizen of Burnet; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Billy Ozier touched the lives of many people during 1-19 his years on this earth, and though his special presence will be 1-20 deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the hearts and minds 1-21 of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dr. Billy B. Ozier 1-24 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his 2-1 wife, Marjorie Ozier; to his sons, Drs. Michael M. Ozier, Gary P. 2-2 Ozier, and Mark S. Ozier; to his eight grandchildren; and to the 2-3 many other friends and relatives of this distinguished Texan; and, 2-4 be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-7 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-8 Dr. Billy B. Ozier.
