R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Robert "Bob" Longo on January 10, 1-2 1997, at the age of 63, has brought a great loss to the family and 1-3 many friends of this distinguished Houstonian; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Houston, Mr. Longo 1-5 was highly regarded as the co-owner of National Terrazzo, Tile, and 1-6 Marble Company, which his father founded more than 65 years ago; 1-7 and 1-8 WHEREAS, The Longos have a proud tradition of service to our 1-9 state; Mr. Longo's father installed the Capitol's colorful terrazzo 1-10 floors in 1936, and 55 years later, Bob Longo and his brother, 1-11 Victor Longo, installed the new terrazzo in the Capitol Extension; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, In addition to his noteworthy professional 1-14 achievements, Mr. Longo will also be remembered for his altruism, 1-15 as he gave generously of his time, talents, and resources to assist 1-16 many worthy organizations in the Houston area; and 1-17 WHEREAS, An avid gardener as well, he planted vegetables each 1-18 season and kindly shared the bounties of his harvest with his many 1-19 friends and neighbors; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Bob Longo touched the lives of many people during 1-21 his years on this earth, and though his special presence will be 1-22 deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the hearts and minds 1-23 of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert "Bob" Longo 2-2 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his 2-3 beloved wife of 35 years, Ann "Suggie" Longo; to his sons, Marc and 2-4 Victor; to his daughter, Lara; to his mother-in-law, Rose Caliva; 2-5 to his cousins, Johnny Longo, Gino Longo, Dino Longo, Reno Longo, 2-6 Bruno Longo, Gino Biasatti, and Dante Biasatti; to his 2-7 brother-in-law and his wife, Sammy and Frances Jo Caliva; to his 2-8 sister-in-law and her husband, Janet and John Lodge; and to his 2-9 many other friends and relatives; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-12 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-13 Robert "Bob" Longo.
