                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, For 30 years, Al Ruschhaupt has dedicated himself to

 1-2     promoting and improving the city of McKinney's Job Corps program,

 1-3     and this remarkable gentleman is indeed deserving of special

 1-4     legislative recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, During his term as mayor of McKinney, Mr. Ruschhaupt

 1-6     undertook the task of changing the face of this valuable program,

 1-7     most notably by working to extend its services to men as well as

 1-8     women; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, One of the original members of the Job Corps's

1-10     Community Relations Council, Mr. Ruschhaupt currently assists in

1-11     developing the North Texas Job Corps Center's annual work plan; his

1-12     involvement also extends to the committee overseeing site and

1-13     building improvement, and his determined leadership has helped to

1-14     initiate many positive changes during his 30 years of service; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Mr. Ruschhaupt's commitment to the McKinney

1-16     community is not limited to his longtime association with the Job

1-17     Corps; in addition to his post as finance chairman for First United

1-18     Methodist Church, he has served as chairman of the Heard Natural

1-19     Science Museum and as director of the Boys and Girls Club of Collin

1-20     County; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Not surprisingly, this dynamic individual has

1-22     received a number of awards from various local institutions,

1-23     including being named Small Business Leader of the Year and

1-24     Rotarian of the Year; his exemplary work has also earned him the

 2-1     McKinney Chamber of Commerce's Outstanding Citizen of the Year

 2-2     award; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, The importance of serving one's community cannot be

 2-4     overstated, and Al Ruschhaupt's civic involvement has inspired

 2-5     countless individuals while demonstrating that a single individual

 2-6     can make a lasting difference in the lives of others; now,

 2-7     therefore, be it

 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-9     Legislature hereby commend Al Ruschhaupt for his many years of

2-10     service to the citizens of McKinney and extend to him sincere best

2-11     wishes for continuing success and happiness in the future; and, be

2-12     it further

2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-14     prepared for Mr. Ruschhaupt as an expression of high regard by the

2-15     Texas House of Representatives.
