                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Sergeant at Arms Rod Welsh, Doorkeeper Pete Peterson, and the

 1-3     house's outstanding staff of sergeant messengers for their

 1-4     exemplary contributions to the work of this chamber during the

 1-5     Regular Session of the 75th Legislature; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Among Mr. Welsh's duties as sergeant at arms are

 1-7     maintaining order in the house chamber and meeting rooms, securing

 1-8     the attendance of members, and assisting all house officers in

 1-9     carrying out their administrative duties through the use of

1-10     sergeant messengers and other staff; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Doorkeeper Pete Peterson, under the supervision of

1-12     the sergeant at arms, includes in his many responsibilities

1-13     obtaining recognition from the speaker to announce the arrival of

1-14     the governor, the senate, or a messenger from the governor or

1-15     senate, and enforcing the privileges of the floor; and

1-16           WHEREAS, The sergeant messengers perform a wide range of

1-17     important duties such as assisting with the taping of committee

1-18     meetings, picking up and delivering mail, and photocopying, and

1-19     their actions contribute to the efficiency of the legislative

1-20     process in innumerable ways; and

1-21           WHEREAS, This session's sergeant messenger staff includes the

1-22     following individuals: Sara Allen, Mike Barnett, David Bedwell,

1-23     Mokysha Benford, Mike Blosser, Barry Boulte, Phillip Brent,

1-24     Vakeetia Bunton, Whitney Burgess, Selena Caldera, Chris Carrasco,

 2-1     Natasha Carrington, Alexandra Chapa, Chad Collins, Randy Cooley,

 2-2     Chareena Crawford, Sherri Crawford, Eric Edwards, Brad Field,

 2-3     Lesley French, Neal Friske, Paul Hammans, T. J. Hand, Jay Hawley,

 2-4     Kim Hokanson, Holly Hughes, Derek Johnson, Greg Kallus, Jon Key,

 2-5     Satya Manz, Silverio Martinez, Gavin Massingill, Steve McMains,

 2-6     Saleena Meghani, Monte Moerbe, Alex Munoz, Kara Murdy, Hector

 2-7     Nieto, Moses Raadt, Claire Randazzo, Candace Rodriguez, Jason

 2-8     Ruley, Davy Samaniego, Rico Samaniego, Rick Schiltz, Kim Schussler,

 2-9     Josh Shuster, Ray Smith, Jamie Stahl, Alvin Weaver, Erin Welch,

2-10     Lynette Whitfield, and Kevin Younger; and

2-11           WHEREAS, Also playing an integral part in the management of

2-12     duties at the sergeant's office are supervisory staff members

2-13     Yvonne Barton, Alex Chaung, Jim Reaves, Nathan Stephens, David

2-14     Sauceda, and John Sheppard; and

2-15           WHEREAS, Each of the individuals employed in the house

2-16     sergeant at arms office has contributed immeasurably to a

2-17     productive legislative session, and it is truly a privilege to

2-18     commend them at this time; now, therefore, be it

2-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-20     Legislature hereby extend to house Sergeant at Arms Rod Welsh,

2-21     Doorkeeper Pete Peterson, and the sergeant messengers its sincere

2-22     gratitude and appreciation for the excellent services they have

2-23     rendered during this legislative session; and, be it further

2-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-25     prepared for the house sergeant at arms office as an expression of

2-26     high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
