No. 1045 75R16014 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On May 22, 1997, Tracy Cathleen Morgan will receive 1-2 her diploma from Austin's Anderson High School (AHS) at the 1-3 school's annual commencement ceremony; and 1-4 WHEREAS, An Austin native, Ms. Morgan attended Saint Andrew's 1-5 Episcopal School, Doss Elementary School, and Kealing Junior High 1-6 School before beginning a highly successful career at AHS; and 1-7 WHEREAS, This remarkable young woman finished her high school 1-8 career with a 3.955 grade point average and ranked 27th out of the 1-9 374 students in her class; a member of the National Honor Society 1-10 during her junior and senior years, she earned placement on the 1-11 school's First Honor Roll in each of her four years in high school; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan is a four-time recipient of the Austin 1-14 Independent School District's Trustee Award, which recognizes 1-15 outstanding academic performance; as a junior, she served on the 1-16 AHS Student Council, and during her senior year, she was elected 1-17 class treasurer; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A member of the AHS Trojan Belles drill team, she 1-19 served this renowned group as social officer and reporter; this 1-20 dynamic individual also found time in her busy schedule to work on 1-21 the school's newspaper and yearbook staffs; and 1-22 WHEREAS, With her acceptance to The University of Texas at 1-23 Austin, Ms. Morgan is doing her part to continue her family's 1-24 80-year association with that fine institution, and the members of 2-1 this chamber are pleased to wish her well as she begins this 2-2 challenging journey; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Tracy Cathleen Morgan on the 2-5 occasion of her graduation from Anderson High School and extend to 2-6 her sincere best wishes for success as she continues her education 2-7 at The University of Texas at Austin; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Ms. Morgan as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
