R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Honorable Vince Munoz has initiated many 1-2 improvements to El Paso's Tigua Indian Reservation, and his 1-3 numerous achievements are truly worthy of legislative recognition; 1-4 and 1-5 WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on January 22, 1951, Governor Munoz 1-6 is a proud and loyal member of the tribe of Tigua Indians; one of 1-7 nine children of Vicente and Bertha Corona Munoz, he attended El 1-8 Paso's Ysleta Elementary School and is a graduate of the Army and 1-9 Navy Academy in San Jose, California; and 1-10 WHEREAS, In 1985, Governor Munoz opened Wyngs, a restaurant 1-11 located on the Tigua Indian Reservation, and in December of the 1-12 following year, he established the Tribal Enterprise for Tigua 1-13 Cultural Center; and 1-14 WHEREAS, This noteworthy gentleman is also responsible for 1-15 the founding of the Speaking Rock Casino, which opened in 1993 and 1-16 has provided a welcome source of income for the reservation and its 1-17 residents; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Governor Munoz has demonstrated a complete 1-19 commitment to the responsibilities of his office, and through his 1-20 many positive innovations in behalf of the Tigua Indian 1-21 Reservation, he has earned the respect and admiration of the 1-22 citizens of El Paso and his tribespeople; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Vince Munoz for his 2-1 leadership as governor of the Tigua Indian Reservation and extend 2-2 to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in 2-3 the years to come; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for Governor Munoz as an expression of high regard by the 2-6 Texas House of Representatives.
